Viking Update &bull Dec 14, 2011
The Vikings aren't exactly sure how to best use Joe Webb, the quarterback/receiver that is best described as an athlete. There's Something About Joe
Daily Norseman &bull Dec 14, 2011
If you thought the pun fest that started when the Minnesota Vikings chose Christian Ponder 12 th overall in the 2011 NFL draft had wound down and gotten dull, then you're probably enjoying the rise in puns that Joe Webb's fascinating offensive rally on Sunday has spawned. The St. Paul Pioneer Press sported headlines "Say it ain't Joe?" on Monday and "Tangled Webb" on Tuesday. Personally, I thought they missed out on the a good musical spoof with "Hey Joe, what ya doin' with that ball in your hand?" All puns aside, Joe Webb's performance on Sunday against the Detroit… Full Story »

Why Nobody Should Be Throwing Christian Ponder Under The Bus Yet
Daily Norseman &bull Dec 12, 2011
One thing that shocked and dismayed be a little bit in the wake of yesterday's loss to the Detroit Lions was how many people apparently want to jump on the " Christian Ponder stinks" bandwagon. Not so much here, but at other places. In Pro Football Talk's story about the game , they had this statement at the end. The Vikings fall to 2-11, and the Lions improve to 8-5. And Webb showed enough to make Vikings fans wonder why the team didn't simply make him the starting quarterback and use the 12th overall pick on Nick Fairley or Ryan… Full Story »

Column: Time for Colts to face future with Luck

The drama was gone by the first drive of the game, not that anyone expected the Indianapolis Colts to be competitive Sunday in Baltimore. Another loss, another miserable performance, and the countdown to imperfection still ticks away. That Peyton Manning will not play a down this season is now a given. That he may never play again for the Colts - a prospect that was once unthinkable - is now very much a part of any conversation about the most hapless team in the NFL. There's still… Full Story »
