2DH: Fifty Hours Later, It Still Feels Great
Battle Red Blog &bull Dec 13, 2011
Your Houston Texans have played a game of footed ball on December 11 exactly twice in their near-decade of games. On December 11, 2005, the Texans rolled into Nashville sporting a 1-14 record. Also on that date, the San Francisco 49ers had an identically terrible record, and a race to to the bottom was in full swing. Also in full swing, my love of a certain mutant DE from North Carolina State who I dreamed would assuage memories of taking David Carr over Julius Peppers in 2002. I dragged my wife to a local sports bar that day to watch… Full Story »

Tebow'ed! How I learned to stop worrying and accept Tim Tebow
Shutdown Corner Blog on Yahoo! Sports &bull Dec 12, 2011
Over the course of the season, I've held my tongue on Tim Tebow . I may have rolled my eyes at his mechanics and shook my head at anyone who credited a win to one person on a team, but I said little. I knew that he was going… Full Story »

Notes, Scribbles, and Things Jotted Down: Week 14, Broncos Edition
Windy City Gridiron &bull Dec 12, 2011
First off, Tebow. My assessment of him is he's a very intelligent football player whose limitations sometimes get the better of him. He knows when to take the ball down and run, how to scramble until a receiver comes open, and has the power to take a hit and deliver one like a running back. If he could deliver a better pass consistently, he'd be even more dangerous. He's pretty inaccurate and needs a wide-open receiver to catch a wobbling duck. But give him credit for the fourth quarter and overtime when he started picking apart the zone defenses the… Full Story »

The Bears defense is thoroughly unimpressed with Tim Tebow
Shutdown Corner Blog on Yahoo! Sports &bull Dec 12, 2011

Another comeback win for Tebow, Broncos?
National Football Post &bull Dec 12, 2011How do you even break this game down? The Bears' defense controls Tebow and the line of scrimmage for the majority of the game, but once again we watch as the Broncos' QB starts to play good football in the fourth quarter. And… Full Story »

Chicago Bears Weekend Six-Pack: 12-2
Chicago Bears Daily Blog &bull Dec 2, 2011I'll shorten my usual twice-per-year, full-post rant on Chicago Bears organizational policies toward the fans to just one-sixth of one post, but as always it must be said. I along with my fellow season ticket holders received our letters instructing us to pay for playoff tickets this week. Despite everyone knowing that absent the Packers losing their final five games to drop from 11-0 to 11-5, the chances of the… Full Story »

Johnson, Hardy, Gaither among aching Panthers

In addition to the lingering emotional soreness from their 49-35 loss to the Detroit Lions Sunday, the Panthers are dealing with plenty of physical aches and pains as well. Takeaway Tillman keys Bears win
Bear Report &bull Nov 21, 2011
Bears cornerback Charles Tillman had a rough outing on Sunday, getting burned repeatedly by Chargers receiver Vincent Jackson. Yet Tillman came up big when Chicago needed him most. Bedeviled most of the afternoon by Vincent Jackson, who finished with 165 yards and a touchdown catch, Charles Tillman still found a way here on Sunday afternoon to quietly win the war despite losing the one-on-one battle of statistics to the impressive San Diego wide receiver. Only the resourceful Chicago Bears' standout cornerback, touted by many of his teammates… Full Story »

NFL Week 11 Quick Hits
NFL Touchdown &bull Nov 21, 2011
Vincent Jackson finally got on track after being held to under 50 yards receiving in four of his previous five games. His return to prominence came against the off-coverage of Charles Tillman, the veteran corner coming off perhaps the best game of his stellar nine-year career. San Diego's makeshift offensive line - which, on the left side, read more like a Polish phonebook than NFL roster, with Brandyn Dombrowski and Scott Mruczkowski starting in place of injured stars Marcus McNeill and Kris Dielman - did not let Julius Peppers and Chicago's potent four-man rush get anywhere near Philip Rivers. And… Full Story »
